Pluswipes has been chosen as a Central and East England regional winner in the HSBC Business Thinking initiative.

Following its nomination as a Central and East England regional finalist and the Thought Exchange to Sao Paulo, Pluswipes has been declared a regional winner in the HSBC Business Thinking initiative.

Founded nine years ago, Pluswipes has built its business as a Corby, Northants-based manufacturer of wet wipes for large consumer product companies, which sell them under their own brands.

The company employs 52 people and has a turnover of £10m and it intends to use its award of funding of up to £6m and a financial reward of up to £120,000 to develop its business much further.

“We want to take our products to a wider stage, whatever route that needs to go down,” said Marten Teasdale Brown, the company’s founder and managing director.

Mr Brown’s wife Tanya, a Pluswipes director and company secretary, said the award will be spent on internationalising the brand, research and development and innovative technologies.
